This work discusses the process of being and becoming. Associatively it approaches our very existence – making references to the classical portrait. Its expressive style creates a dynamic. This painting is characterized by a figures in inner turmoil – in a mythological atmosphere. As if one were diving into a dream world or into the subconscious as in analytical psychology. Suppressed elements emerge – the unexpected and the uncanny – and all the time a big heart is pounding loudly. (Konstantin Alexiou)

An extraordinary being is ready for departure to an unknown planet in the universe

Jede einzelne Frau auf meinen Gemälden fungiert wie ein Titelbild ihrer Erlebnisse. Jede von Ihnen umgibt eine rätselhafte Aura, die uns dazu verleitet ihre Lebensgeschichten der eigenen Phantasie zu überlassen. Ich möchte die Geschichten hinter meinen Figuren in Der Schwebe lassen. Man soll lediglich erahnen was sich hinter der Verhüllung verbirgt.

Every single woman in my paintings acts like a cover picture of her experiences. Each of them is surrounded by an enigmatic aura, which leads us to leave their life stories to our own imagination. I want to keep the stories behind my characters floating. One should only guess what is hidden behind the cover.

An over-dimensional refugee woman appears as a self-assured Amazon.

My aim is to address socially relevant aspects by engaging in themes of the realities of everyday life. In thematic strands of work, as in my series  VEILED - UNVEILED, I explore how we perceive the world, and what we do and do not reveal.

In my art I link the inner world with its shifting situations and intangible emotions with everyday experiences,

impressions and social issues. With my painting "Departure into new worlds", I make a reference to the current situation. 

The frequent use of monochrome backgrounds accentuates the analytical side of my technique:

the subject is put on show in the foreground and empathetically examined.
